Why a long local move is planned differently
Three things change once a "local" move is long enough to cross the metro.
One trip, not two. On a short shift, an underestimated volume is an inconvenience: the vehicle goes back. Here it is a genuine problem, because a second run costs most of another day. So the vehicle is sized generously rather than exactly, and the survey matters more than it would for a move across the same suburb.
Departure time becomes the plan. Loading takes what it takes and unloading takes what it takes; the drive in between is the variable, and on a long cross-city route it swings by hours. We agree a start time with the date, and for a Vasai to Kalyan or Thane job it is usually early. Unloading a household after dark, into a building whose lift may have a booked window, is where things get damaged.
The inventory has to be right first time. A forgotten item is not a quick return trip. We would rather spend longer at the survey than have you discover a gap once the vehicle has gone.
Beyond that, the method is ordinary. Room-by-room packing with our own materials, cartons labelled for the room they are going to at the new address rather than the one they came from, fragile items wrapped individually and packed so nothing shifts inside the box, and wardrobes, beds and modular units dismantled where a doorway will not take them, with the fittings kept together for reassembly.

And how close a vehicle can stand, because a long carry needs more people rather than a bigger van.
