Timing the move around your trading week
Most office moves land in one of three shapes, and picking the right one is worth more than negotiating on price.
| Shape | When it fits | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Single evening | Small offices, one floor, everything can go at once | Long night, everyone back next morning |
| Weekend | Most mid-sized offices | Costs more hours, protects the working week entirely |
| Phased over days | Businesses that cannot stop at all | Longest overall, lowest disruption at any single moment |
Why an evening or weekend is often necessary rather than preferred
Two things force it. Your own trading hours, and the building's. Many commercial buildings restrict when goods can move through common areas, and that restriction usually falls outside business hours. Check with building management early, because it can decide the shape of the whole move.
The last hour matters most
The end of an office move is when tired people make decisions about where things go. Having the floor plan on the wall and one person authorised to answer questions is what keeps that hour short.
An office move is measured in downtime, not distance
The transport is the easy part. What a business actually pays for is the time it cannot work, so the plan is built backwards from the moment you need to be operating again.
That single decision drives everything else: what moves first, what has to stay live longest, and what can travel a day early because nobody touches it.
Sequencing beats speed
Moving faster does not help if the wrong things arrive first. We agree an order with you: the desks people need on Monday morning are loaded last and come off first, and departments that can work from a laptop for a day travel earlier.
Where a phased move makes sense
Where a business genuinely cannot stop, the move runs in stages across an evening or a weekend so part of the office keeps trading while the rest travels. That costs a little more in hours and usually saves considerably more in downtime.
Workstations, files and equipment
Desks travel as a set
Each workstation is labelled against the destination floor plan before anything is lifted. The monitor, cables, drawers and chair that belong together arrive together, which is what makes reassembly quick rather than a scavenger hunt.
IT equipment
Computers, monitors and related equipment are packed for transport and moved per desk. We place and reassemble them. Reconnection and network setup stay with your own IT provider. That is the honest division of labour and the one that gets you working fastest. We do not configure networks, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
Records and archives
Files are numbered and listed rather than simply stacked. An archive that arrives unordered can cost weeks to recover. If anything is confidential, tell us and it is sealed and tracked separately.
Furniture
Desks, partitions and storage units are dismantled where they have to be, with fittings bagged and taped to the piece. Chairs and soft furniture are wrapped individually so they do not mark each other in transit. Our packing, loading and unloading page covers the materials in more detail.
Shops and retail premises
Retail has a different constraint again: stock is both fragile and countable.
- Stock is moved in a sequence you can verify, not as one undifferentiated load, so you can reconcile at the far end.
- Display units and shelving are usually dismantled rather than carried assembled.
- Trading hours drive the schedule. For many shops that means an evening or an early start.
- Where a shop sits inside a complex, check whether the building restricts when goods can move.
Tell us how you actually trade and the sequence follows from that rather than from our convenience.
What to settle before the date
- Fix the return-to-work moment. Everything else is planned backwards from it.
- Get the destination floor plan. Labelling is worthless without one.
- Nominate one decision-maker who is reachable on the day. Office moves stall on unanswered questions far more than on heavy furniture.
- Check both buildings for lift access, loading bays and permitted moving hours.
- Decide what is not moving. Dead equipment and old furniture cost the same to move as working ones.
- Brief your staff on what they clear personally, usually their own desk contents and anything valuable.
- Arrange IT so your provider is available when the equipment lands, not two days later.
Moving between offices in Kalyan, Dombivli or into Mumbai is routine work for us; the planning above matters more than the distance.

Who this suits
- Offices moving within or between Kalyan, Dombivli, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Mumbai
- Shops and retail premises
- Phased moves where the business must keep operating
- Record and archive relocation
What affects the cost
We do not publish a fixed price, because the same job costs different amounts depending on the details below. Looking at the job first is what turns a guess into a figure that holds.
- Number of workstations and the volume of stored records
- Floor, lift availability and loading access at both premises
- Any restriction on the hours goods may be moved
- Evening, weekend or phased working to protect trading
- Furniture needing dismantling and reassembly
- Packing material, particularly for IT equipment and archives
- Crew size needed to hold the agreed sequence
- Vehicle size and the number of trips access allows
What to tell us for a quote
Have these ready and we can usually give you a realistic figure without a second call.
- Number of workstations, and roughly how many storage or filing units
- Both addresses, with floor, lift and loading access
- Any restriction on the hours goods may be moved
- When you need to be working again, and whether a phased move is needed
- Whether IT equipment travels with the furniture
- Preferred date, including whether an evening or weekend suits better

Office Relocation: common questions
Do you move offices outside working hours?
Yes. Evening and weekend moves are common precisely because downtime is the real cost, and many buildings restrict when goods can move through common areas anyway.
Can the move happen in stages?
Yes. Where a business cannot stop, departments move in sequence across an evening or a weekend so part of the office keeps working while the rest travels.
Do you reconnect our computers and network?
We pack, move, place and reassemble the equipment per desk. Reconnection and network setup stay with your own IT provider, which is the fastest honest split of the work.
How do you keep our files in order?
Records are numbered and listed rather than stacked, so the archive arrives in a recoverable order. Anything confidential is sealed and tracked separately if you tell us.
Can you move outside business hours?
Yes. Evening and weekend moves are common for offices and we plan around your working hours where you need it.
How do you handle IT equipment?
Computers, monitors and related equipment are packed for transport and labelled by workstation. We move and place the equipment; reconnection and network setup are handled by your IT provider.
Can the move be done in stages?
Yes. Where an office has to keep operating, we agree a sequence so departments move in stages rather than all at once.
