Why the start time is part of the booking
A move has three phases and only one of them is negotiable on the day.
Loading takes what it takes, based on the volume and the access. Unloading is the same at the other end. The drive between them is the variable, and on this side of Mumbai it can swing by hours depending on when the vehicle sets off. Larger goods vehicles also face timing restrictions on some routes, and those vary, so the route and the hour are planned together rather than left to the driver on the morning.
The practical consequence is that we agree a start time along with the date, and for most Kurla jobs it is early. That is not a preference. A load that leaves late arrives late, and unloading a household in the dark, into a building whose lift may have a booked window, is where things get damaged and tempers go.
If your building or the destination has restricted hours for shifting work, tell us at the survey. Where the window is narrow the answer is more crew so the loading finishes inside it, not a longer day, and that is priced upfront rather than discovered against the clock.
