Moving a home office so you are working again quickly

Bag the cables per device and tape the bag to that device. Loose cables in a common carton is the single most reliable way to lose a Monday morning.
Pack the working setup separately from the household. One clearly marked carton or two, kept together, loaded last. Not distributed among the bedding.
Carry the laptop and the drives yourself. They should not be on the vehicle at all. Neither should anything you cannot replace.
Check the backup before the move, not after. A move is exactly when a drive that was already failing gives up. Verify it rather than assuming it.
Sort the connection early. Internet at a new address usually has a lead time measured in weeks rather than days, and it is not something a mover can influence. Start it as soon as you have the date. If there will be a gap, plan for it rather than discovering it.
Monitors and screens travel upright on edge, faced with rigid board where needed, never flat with weight on them. Everything else runs as a normal house shift. Packing goes room by room with our own materials, cartons are labelled for the room they are going to at the new address rather than the one they came from, fragile items are wrapped individually and packed so nothing shifts inside the box, and wardrobes, beds and modular units are dismantled where a doorway or lift will not take them, with the fittings bagged and kept with the piece.
One sequencing point worth agreeing with us in advance: if the study or work corner is the room you need functional first, say so, and it gets unloaded and reassembled before the rooms that can wait a day. That is a small change to the plan and it is the difference between working on Monday and not.
Before quoting we establish the floor at each end, whether a working lift is available and whether household goods are permitted in it, and how close a vehicle can stand.
